About Roman
A Dedicated Public Servant for the People of Kerrville
Roman Garcia is a fourth-generation Kervillian with a love for his home and a desire for public service. He was born in Austin, Texas, but has lived in Kerrville since 2004. He has been an active participant in Kerrville’s municipal government since 2016.
Prior to his election to the City Council, Roman was appointed by the Council to serve on the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council for three consecutive terms. During his last two terms, had the honor of being elected by his peers as the Chair of the fifteen-member Council. In addition, the City Council appointed Roman to serve on a subcommittee for the Kerrville 2050 Comprehensive Plan. As a member, he worked with citizens from various demographics to assist in the development of a long-term plan for our city.
In addition to his involvement in government, Roman has volunteered and worked extensively throughout the community through local youth and sports organizations, food pantries, and charitable organizations. Some include Habitat for Humanity, Hill Country Youth Soccer Association, Kerrville Little League, Kerrville VA Center, Playhouse 2000 Theater, Salvation Army, and the Upper Guadalupe River Authority. Roman is also heavily involved in the children's ministry at his church, Impact Christian Fellowship, serving as the audio/visual leader, a kids’ camp counselor, and a vacation bible school leader.
Roman has served the people of Kerrville on the City Council since May 2021. Since his election at the age of 19, Roman has been recognized as one of the youngest elected officials in the State of Texas and in the nation. Now that he have successfully achieved a position in public office, he serves as a mentor for other municipal candidates and prospective leaders who are also committed to making a positive and everlasting impact on the future of our country.
As a result of his leadership, community service, and for achieving elected office at a young age, Roman has been recognized on a national level, invited to participate in various speaking engagements throughout the country, and personally met with current and former United States presidents, presidential candidates, members of Congress, governors, state legislators, federal and state cabinet officials, and other government and influential leaders.
Roman is a strong advocate for community involvement and awareness regarding city business. Citizens are always welcome to contact him with questions, comments, and suggestions.
